
PRIMA Program 2023 Call Opened

The 2023 call of the Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area (PRIMA) Program, which will support multi-partner international projects on the themes of water management, food systems and agri-food value chain in the Mediterranean region, is now open for applications.
As a result of a new change made by PRIMA, the consortium that will take part in the international project calls to be opened within the scope of PRIMA must consist of researchers from at least 3 different participating countries and at least 4 different legal entities. In this framework;
1. At least 1 legal entity from an EU member state or a Horizon2020 assosigned country not bordering the Mediterranean: Germany, France, Portugal, Croatia, Greek Administration of Southern Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Slovenia, Spain, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Slovenia
2. At least 2 different legal entities* from a PRIMA participating third country or a third country bordering the Mediterranean Sea: Turkey, Algeria, Jordan, Israel, Tunisia, Morocco, Lebanon, Egypt
3. At least 1 legal entity must be from any PRIMA participating country (EU or non-EU).
*These 2 different legal entities can be from the same or different PRIMA participating third country / third country bordering the Mediterranean (Turkey, Algeria, Jordan, Israel, Tunisia, Morocco, Lebanon, Egypt).
The projects to be supported under the PRIMA Program are divided into 2 parts.
- Part 1 project proposals will be supported by funding allocated to the PRIMA Program from the Horizon 2020 Program. Applications under Part 1 of the PRIMA Program should only be submitted to PRIMA. - Part 2 project proposals will be supported with funds committed to the PRIMA Program by national funding agencies. Under Part 2, in addition to the joint application to PRIMA, research teams in project consortia are required to apply to their national funding agencies. For international application requirements and detailed information, please visit https://prima-med.org/what-we-do/sections/section-2/. Teams from Turkey who will take part in the consortia from Turkey will make their national applications to TÜBİTAK via https://uidb-pbs.tubitak.gov.tr/. Project proposals to be submitted from Turkey within the scope of this call will be supported within the scope of TÜBİTAK 1071 Support Program for Increasing the Capacity to Benefit from International Research Funds and Participation in International R&D Collaborations.
