The Climate Change Adaptation Mission focuses on supporting EU regions, cities and local authorities to build resilience to the impacts of climate change. The mission aims to support at least 150 European regions and communities in building climate resilience by 2030.

The mission will contribute to the implementation of the EU's climate change adaptation strategy by helping regions to

Better understand the climate-related risks they are facing and will face in the future,

Helping them to develop their own ways to better prepare for changing climate conditions and find solutions

Testing and field implementation of innovative solutions needed to build resilience

In order for the Mission to achieve its goals, 3 topics will be supported by the European Commission within the scope of the call opened in 2023.
